Star Trek USS KUMANO

This is a commission build i recently done for a client who requested to have a one off refit constitution class ship with the name Kumano, after doing a little research i discovered that there was a real Japanese WW2 ship with the same name which turned out to be a legend, they called it the ship with 9 lives and virtually unsinkable through "Luck"

The model here is the Polar Lights 1/1000 refit Enterprise model kit with Paragrafix brass photo etch set used for added detail and open shuttle bay, the tiny arboretum and officers lounge have a Japanese theme to them but at this scale it is very hard to see, i made my own decals for the registry and name of the ship and made a nice custom wooden base with a plaque, the pole that the model sits on is made from plastic tubing, the reason i chose plastic was because if the model accidentally gets a knocked the tubing being a bit flexible absorbs some of the energy and sways and thus reduces the chance of damaging the tiny connectors that go into the model, the model does come off the stand and not fixed.
