Polar lights Refit Enterprise 1/350

This is the holy grail of all star trek models the huge and mighty polar lights 1/350 refit Enterprise, this took me about 2 months to complete and sold to a client, I used the Aztec masking templates from “Aztec Dummy” to do all the panels, I made my own blue deflector dish power up/down circuit, and used a DLM circuit for the flashing navigation lights, The arboretum has scale figures and trees and the shuttle bay also has scale figures complete with shuttle craft, in the VIP lounge at the back of the bridge I have made up my own table and chairs as seen in the movie when the Klingons come for dinner! And I also made up my own windows here to as the kit part is badly done, the impulse engines are the DLM ones as I hate the look of the kit’s part “horrid”
The base colour of the ship is an off white and the Aztecs are done in Tamiya pearl white paints, I will add more info later.

Bubble Ship from the film OBLIVION

Bubble Ship from the film OBLIVION starring Tom Cruise.

This model is a one off build and not a kit which I scratch built and looks stunning on display, it is lighted using tiny SMD LED’s with one inside the cockpit upper ring and one each side of the ball shaped engine pods, it has a black wooden base with a glass top stand that has the TET emblem on it, the model is approx 10 inches long x 9.5 inches wide and I am not sure of the scale but would say to be approx. 1/32, it is powered by a 9-volt battery from the underside of the base which also has an on/off rocker switch, the ball shaped engine pods can rotate into desired position but the cockpit & guns do not rotate, the model has a 2.1mm x 5mm connector on the underside with cables that loosely run to the rear side of the base, these cables have Bullet Banana Gold Plated Connector Plugs that push into connectors on the base, and this build was fun to make.

Built in September 2014 and sold.

USS YORKTOWN non canon

This is my non canon kit bash model of the USS YORKTOWN from the next generation era, I built this model back in 2010 using the AMT ERTL 1/537 enterprise kit and is 22” long, fully lit using LED’s and a custom made base that the model is detachable from, as you can see from the photos it has been extensively modified with updated bigger more impressive impulse engines, the warp engines now have the blue grills on each side and the front parts are now red which I used from a red bendable plastic ruler.

There are also emergency escape life pods added to the hull surfaces which I made in Photoshop and then printed onto photo paper so that they would be raised from the hull surface slightly, the arboretum has been moved one deck up and is also lit up and I chose a green look instead of blue, the docking ports are brass photo etch parts, the VIP lounge at the back of the bridge is also lit and is fitted with a long table and chairs which I crafted myself, the bridge dome has been surgically cut sanded down and re-glued, and the dark grey vertical lines on the neck section are hook-up wire/cable from an old PC.

I wanted to base this model around the time of the Enterprise “C “ or perhaps just before, So wanted it to resemble the ambassador class ships like the thicker neck section the emergency escape life pods and the colour scheme, plus the warp engines.

I used custom decals plus DLM parts: main blue deflector dish & blue impulse engine crystal, my bother cast me the clear blue warp engine grills in resin (Thank you).

Fitted inside the base is a circuit board to make the navigation lights flash/blink, the model is powered by a single 9v battery fitted in the underside of the base, there are two on/off rocker switches on the rear of the base, one for the main lighting and one for the navigation lights.

This model took me about 3 months to complete and was very enjoyable, and sold to a client.
